Research Fields

Experimental and Applied Physics

This line of research promotes the experimental study of fundamental problems of physics on a small and medium scale, as well as the potential applications to the productive world derived from practical research. In addition, this line covers the development and application of modern physical models to current problems using computer simulations and the handling of large volumes of data. Some of the topics that the student will be able to address in this line are:

  • Optical Tweezers
  • Solar Cells
  • Nanomaterials
  • Experimental Optics and Quantum Information
  • Complex Systems

Theoretical Physics

This line of research promotes investigation at a structural and disciplinary level in various topics that include theoretical aspects of Quantum Mechanics, Gravitation, Plasma Physics, Cosmology, Nuclear Physics and other topics, both at a fundamental and phenomenological level. Some of the topics that the student will be able to address in this line are:

  • High Energy Physics
  • Field Theory
  • Space Physics
  • Mathematical Physics
  • Gravitation
  • Theoretical Optics and Quantum Information
  • Astrophysical Plasmas
